{"id":52828,"date":"2018-08-29T11:31:54","date_gmt":"2018-08-29T15:31:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/?p=52828"},"modified":"2018-08-29T11:31:54","modified_gmt":"2018-08-29T15:31:54","slug":"open-and-closed-for-the-labour-day-weekend","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/2018\/08\/open-and-closed-for-the-labour-day-weekend\/","title":{"rendered":"Open and closed for the Labour Day weekend"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Brock University\u2019s administrative offices will be closed for the Labour Day long weekend from Saturday, Sept. 1 to Monday, Sept. 3.<\/p>\n<p>However, some\u00a0key areas at the University\u2019s St. Catharines campus will remain open as per regular weekend operating hours.<\/p>\n<p>Sunday, Sept. 2 is also Brock&#8217;s annual <a href=\"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/2018\/08\/like-clockwork-2400-students-to-move-into-brock-university-residences-sunday\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Move-in Day<\/a>, which will see nearly 2,400 students moved into Brock residences. As a result, departments and services such as Residences, Dining, Parking, IT Help Desk, Brock Card, Campus Store and the Walker Sports Complex will all be open throughout the day.<\/p>\n<p>The following campus services are open and closed on the Labour Day long weekend:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Campus Security<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Officers are available 24-7 by phoning x3200, via emergency phones on campus, by emailing\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:security@brocku.ca\">security@brocku.ca<\/a>\u00a0or through the Brock Mobile App.<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>James A. Gibson Library<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Closed: Saturday, Sept. 1 to Monday, Sept. 3.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Walker Sports Complex\/The Zone<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Open: Saturday, Sept. 1 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 2 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Monday, Sept. 3 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Food establishments<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>All food services locations will be closed on Saturday, Sept. 1.<\/p>\n<p>On Sunday, Sept. 2, Lowenberger and DeCew dining halls will be open from 5 p.m. until 1 a.m., Guernsey Market will be open from 9 a.m. until 7:30 p.m. and Thistle Tim Hortons will be open from 8:30 a.m. until 4 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>On Monday, Sept. 3, Lowenberger and DeCew dining halls will be open from 9:30 a.m. until 1 a.m.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Campus Store<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Closed: Saturday, Sept. 1.<\/p>\n<p>Open: Sunday, Sept. 2 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Monday, Sept. 3 from noon to 4 p.m.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Parking Services<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>On Saturday, Sept. 1, the Parking Services Kiosk in lot B will be open from 8 to 11 a.m.<\/p>\n<p>On Sunday, Sept. 2, the Parking Services office in the Campus Store will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Monday, Sept. 3, the Parking Services office in the Campus Store will be open from noon to 4 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>Beginning Saturday, Sept. 1, Zone 1 <a href=\"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/2018\/08\/parking-changes-and-lot-improvements-on-the-way\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">will be free on weekdays after 6 p.m.<\/a> and all day on weekends. Parking is prohibited between 2 and 5 a.m. on any day.<\/p>\n<p>Hourly parking is available in a number of locations throughout campus.
