{"id":52161,"date":"2018-07-05T13:05:46","date_gmt":"2018-07-05T17:05:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/?p=52161"},"modified":"2018-07-05T15:36:45","modified_gmt":"2018-07-05T19:36:45","slug":"high-heat-causing-cooling-complications-on-campus","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/2018\/07\/high-heat-causing-cooling-complications-on-campus\/","title":{"rendered":"High heat causing cooling complications on campus"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Due to the extreme heat that has hit Niagara in recent days, Brock\u2019s main campus cooling systems are operating at maximum capacity.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Given the sustained high temperatures, the campus demand has exceeded the cooling capacity.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Normally the system recovers overnight, but due to nightly temperatures well over 20\u00b0C, the central plant cannot sufficiently \u2018catch up.\u2019 As a result, a continual rise in interior temperatures is being experienced.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Many areas across campus can expect higher than normal (23\u00b0C) indoor temperatures.
