{"id":52097,"date":"2018-06-28T17:05:35","date_gmt":"2018-06-28T21:05:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/?p=52097"},"modified":"2018-06-28T22:45:28","modified_gmt":"2018-06-29T02:45:28","slug":"brocks-new-hr-system-set-to-launch-this-weekend","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/2018\/06\/brocks-new-hr-system-set-to-launch-this-weekend\/","title":{"rendered":"Brock&#8217;s new HR system set to launch this weekend\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Nearly one year of\u00a0extensive\u00a0staff dedication will culminate this weekend with the launch of\u00a0Brock University&#8217;s\u00a0new human resources (HR) system.<\/p>\n<p>On Sunday, July 1, Brock\u00a0will become the first higher education institution in Canada to launch Workday HR, a cloud-based\u00a0HR\u00a0management and information\u00a0system.<\/p>\n<p>The initiative will amalgamate nine independent\u00a0HR\u00a0systems into one unified, efficient and user-friendly system\u00a0that will reduce duplication and forever change the way\u00a0HR\u00a0information is accessed at Brock. The system will be fully accessible to Brock employees on Tuesday, July 3.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0team behind Workday HR, called Project Mosaic, includes staff members from Human Resources, Information Technology Services and Financial Services as well as representatives from Deloitte who oversaw the system\u2019s design.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to employees with Project Mosaic, hundreds of faculty and staff from across campus have been involved with the implementation of Workday HR.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Whether they&#8217;ve been directly part of the Project Mosaic team,\u00a0participated in user acceptance testing,\u00a0observed information\u00a0sessions\u00a0or\u00a0attended\u00a0training sessions, I want to\u00a0thank\u00a0everyone\u00a0involved in the project for their\u00a0enthusiasm,\u00a0dedication\u00a0and\u00a0hard work,\u201d said Brian Hutchings, Vice-President, Administration.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTheir\u00a0knowledge, ideas and\u00a0efforts will benefit all employees by adding value and increasing efficiencies in all of our work routines.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Workday HR will integrate seamlessly with the financial services functionality already available within Brock\u2019s Workday\u00a0system. In addition to submitting expense reports and\u00a0purchasing requests\u00a0through Workday, employees will be able to access their personal employment information in real time, such as compensation,\u00a0benefits\u00a0and\u00a0job\u00a0applications;\u00a0keep track of time worked;\u00a0request and track time away;\u00a0edit benefits information;\u00a0check pay slips;\u00a0and change contact information like phone number and address.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to this,\u00a0managers will be able to review and approve requests for leave and time away;\u00a0access team information;\u00a0view employee contracts;\u00a0and create analytical reports that will help with planning and operational decisions.\u00a0Faculty members and librarians will be able to view their most recent sabbatical\u00a0leave and easily hire research assistants.<\/p>\n<p>Team members from Project Mosaic will be working this weekend to complete final tasks for the implementation of Workday HR.
