{"id":51104,"date":"2018-05-22T11:45:36","date_gmt":"2018-05-22T15:45:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/?p=51104"},"modified":"2018-05-22T16:31:36","modified_gmt":"2018-05-22T20:31:36","slug":"brock-launches-employee-workplace-violence-resources-and-training","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/2018\/05\/brock-launches-employee-workplace-violence-resources-and-training\/","title":{"rendered":"Brock launches employee workplace violence resources and training"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">New workplace violence resources and training are now available to Brock employees.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Launched earlier this month by Brock\u2019s Health, Safety and Wellness Office, the<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/brocku.sharepoint.com\/human-resources\/Documents\/EHS\/Brock%20Workplace%20Violence%20Program.pdf\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Workplace Violence Prevention Program<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> contains written standards that outline the roles and responsibilities of the University community as well as procedures to follow when workplace violence occurs at Brock.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Employees are asked to review and understand how this new program, as well as the existing<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/policies\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/94\/WVP-Signed-October-10-2017.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Workplace Violence Prevention Policy<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, applies to them.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A component of the program includes<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/lms.brocku.ca\/portal\/site\/Health_and_Safety\/tool\/3d417ed4-4a7f-40e6-ab73-1c33962caaf8\/jsf\/index\/mainIndex\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">mandatory online Workplace Violence Training<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for all Brock employees. The module is available on the Sakai Learning Management System under the Health and Safety heading. Employees are asked to set aside 30 minutes to complete the training as soon as possible.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Brock has also developed a<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/brocku.sharepoint.com\/human-resources\/Documents\/EHS\/Brock%20Workplace%20Violence%20Program%20Appendix%20A.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Workplace Violence Assessment<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that will help identify areas susceptible to workplace violence risks.
