Brock leaders have the opportunity to become certified in workplace mental health.<\/p>\n
In partnership with its employee and family assistance provider Morneau Shepell, Brock is offering employees the chance to participate in the Workplace Mental Health Leadership Certificate Program<\/a> on Tuesday, April 19.<\/p>\n This one-day certificate program teaches practical and empathetic solution-based leadership skills for managing performance and promoting mental health.\u00a0While limited spaces for the initial session have quickly filled, a wait list has begun to form should any cancellations occur.<\/p>\n Designed for directors, managers, supervisors and other Brock leaders, the program takes a blended learning approach that includes in-class and web-based components and highlights The Mental Health Framework \u2014 a five-phase approach of best practices for managing mental health in the workplace:<\/p>\n \u201cMental health affects how we think, feel and act in all aspects of our lives, including our jobs,\u201d says Kathryn Walker, Manager, Health Management and Wellness.<\/p>\n \u201cLeaders play an important role in creating a working environment that promotes mental health. The certificate program will provide them with the knowledge and tools to address behaviour and performance issues effectively and sensitively.\u201d<\/p>\n\n
