Associate Professor of Accounting Tanya Tang will talk about the implications of tax avoidance during a Goodman School of Business event Friday, Feb. 16.<\/p>\n
Held as part of Goodman\u2019s Luncheon Speaker Series, Tang will present her paper, \u201cThe value implications of tax avoidance across countries\u201d that was recently published in the Journal of Accounting, Auditing and Finance.<\/em><\/p>\n Tang studied data from companies in 46 countries and focused her research on investor perceptions of companies\u2019 tax-avoidance behaviour and found there is a positive relationship between tax avoidance and firm value.<\/p>\n Tang is the recipient of the 2017 Department Research award for Goodman\u2019s Accounting department.<\/p>\n In its 12th\u00a0year, Goodman\u2019s\u00a0Luncheon Speaker Series<\/a>\u00a0provides an informal and engaging opportunity to listen and discuss recent advances in research, teaching and practices with colleagues internationally.<\/p>\n The event is being held in Sankey Chamber Friday, Feb. 16 from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Space is limited.
