{"id":48846,"date":"2018-01-15T11:04:36","date_gmt":"2018-01-15T16:04:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/?p=48846"},"modified":"2018-01-16T15:13:22","modified_gmt":"2018-01-16T20:13:22","slug":"application-deadline-approaching-for-summer-job-funding","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/2018\/01\/application-deadline-approaching-for-summer-job-funding\/","title":{"rendered":"Application deadline approaching for summer job funding"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There may still be snow outside, but now\u2019s the time for Brock employees to start thinking about summer \u2014 at least their summer hiring plans.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Faculty and staff interested in hiring students for summer positions are encouraged to apply for the\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/employment-social-development\/services\/funding\/canada-summer-jobs.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Canada Summer Jobs<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> wage subsidy through a new internal process at Brock.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In an effort to ensure applications receive the best consideration for funding, the offices of Government and Community Relations and Talent Acquisition will review each application against criteria set out by Canada Summer Jobs and provide feedback, if needed. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Funding requests for positions within Brock University should be emailed to <a href=\"mailto:cda@summerjobs@brocku.ca\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">cdasummerjobs@brocku.ca<\/a> by Monday, Jan. 22.<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> They will then be centrally submitted to Service Canada in advance of the program deadline of Feb. 2. As in previous years, individual units will hear back directly from Service Canada regarding the status of their applications beginning in April.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Brock employees interested in learning more about the Canada Summer Jobs program are encouraged to visit the\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/employment-social-development\/services\/funding\/canada-summer-jobs.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Government of Canada\u2019s website<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.
