Building or grounds-related\u00a0emergency<\/strong><\/p>\n If a building\u00a0or grounds-related\u00a0emergency,\u00a0such as broken glass, loss of power or flooding,\u00a0occurs from\u00a0Dec.\u00a023\u00a0to\u00a0Jan.\u00a01, employees are asked to\u00a0call Campus Security Services at x3200.\u00a0Heating setbacks and ventilation reductions will be in effect\u00a0during the holiday closure.<\/p>\n Facilities Management contractors<\/strong><\/p>\n If contract work is expected during the holiday closure,\u00a0email Campus Security Services<\/a>\u00a0before\u00a0Dec.\u00a020\u00a0with specified times and dates.\u00a0Brock University identification or contractor identification\u00a0must be produced.<\/p>\n Entering a building with proxy\/swipe access<\/strong><\/p>\n Individuals with\u00a0proxy\/swipe access to a building’s\u00a0exterior doors\u00a0may enter\u00a0if\u00a0authorized to do so during the holiday closure.\u00a0Auto alarm systems are still in effect during the closure, so\u00a0have\u00a0your code ready. Only select buildings have auto alarm systems. If employees have not been given an access code, their building is not affected.<\/p>\n Buildings with proxy\/swipe access include:<\/p>\n Entering a building\u00a0without proxy\/swipe access<\/strong><\/p>\n Individuals\u00a0without\u00a0proxy\/swipe access\u00a0must enter the University through the doors at Scotiabank Hall near the Tim Hortons in\u00a0Thistle\u00a0Complex (see map below). Campus Security will be stationed inside the Scotiabank doors\u00a0during the holiday closure\u00a0from\u00a09\u00a0to\u00a011 a.m. and 1 to 3 p.m.\u00a0Employees will be asked for identification, the reason for their visit\u00a0and length of\u00a0stay. Employees are asked to call\u00a0Campus Security Services\u00a0at x3200 when they\u00a0leave.\u00a0If the doors are locked, press emergency phone #67 or call 905-688-5550\u00a0x3200 to ask an officer to open the doors.<\/p>\n Parking<\/strong><\/p>\n There will be free\u00a0parking at the main campus from Dec. 23\u00a0to Jan. 1. Parking regulations still apply:<\/p>\n Regular parking operations will resume Tuesday, Jan. 2. Should there be a snow event, Visitor Lot D will be cleared first and available for parking.<\/p>\n Food service<\/strong><\/p>\n Other than vending machines, no food service will be available on campus from Dec. 22 at 3 p.m. to Monday, Jan. 1. Several\u00a0private food outlets will be\u00a0open on the east side of Glenridge Avenue, immediately opposite the main campus.<\/p>\n Guernsey Market,\u00a0Hungry Badger and the Tim Hortons in the Schmon Tower\u00a0will reopen on Tuesday, Jan. 2:<\/p>\n Regular hours of operations\u00a0return\u00a0Sunday, Jan.\u00a07, with\u00a0Guernsey Market open from noon\u00a0to\u00a09:30 p.m.<\/p>\n Building hours<\/strong><\/p>\n The Goodman School of Business expansion project\u00a0construction site will be active during the break.<\/p>\n Brock Research and Innovation Centre<\/strong><\/p>\n Regular hours resume on Tuesday, Jan. 2 from 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.<\/p>\n Cairns Family Health and Bioscience Research Complex<\/strong><\/p>\n The Cairns Complex\u00a0will require proxy\/swipe access at all times. Temporary proxy\/swipe cards will not be issued for the holidays.<\/p>\n James A. Gibson Library and\u00a0Matheson Learning Commons<\/strong><\/p>\n Regular hours resume Monday, Jan. 8 from\u00a07:30 a.m. to 11\u00a0p.m.<\/p>\n Construction affecting elevators in the main lobby of Schmon Tower<\/a> will take place leading up to and during the holiday closure. Elevator routines may be altered. Walker School of Fine and Performing Arts<\/strong><\/p>\n Access to the Marilyn I. Walker School of Fine and Performing Arts (MIWSFPA) is available to employees who are authorized to enter the building during the holidays. All doors to the MIWSFPA will be locked with access to the building via proxy\/swipe only.
