The following is a list of thesis defences taking place at Brock from Dec. 11 to 15.<\/span><\/p>\n

All are open for the University community to attend.<\/span><\/p>\n

Master of Science thesis defences<\/strong><\/p>\n

Claire Tuckey, a candidate in the Department of Kinesiology, will defend her Master of Science thesis on Monday, Dec. 11 from 9 a.m. to noon in Walker Complex 203. <\/span><\/p>\n

Her thesis is titled \u201cExamining error detection capabilities in a novel force production task as a function of athletic experience.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Her examination committee members are Dr. Jae Patterson, Supervisor; Drs. Allan Adkin and David Gabriel, Advisory Committee; Dr. Michael Carter, External Examiner (McMaster University); and Dr. Philip Sullivan, Chair.<\/span><\/p>\n

Walid Abomirga, a candidate in the Department of Earth Sciences, will present his Master of Science thesis defence by video conference on Tuesday, Dec. 12 at 9 a.m. in WH 147.<\/span><\/p>\n

His thesis is titled \u201cCentral North Atlantic (IODP Site U1313) paleoceanography based on a high-resolution dinoflagellate cyst record across the Early\u2013Middle Pleistocene boundary (Marine Isotope Stages 20\u201318, ~773 ka).\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

His examination committee members are Dr. Michael Bidochka, Chair; Dr. Elisabeth Levac, External Examiner, (Bishop\u2019s University); Dr. Martin Head, Supervisor; and Dr. Francine McCarthy and Dr. Uwe Brand, Committee Members.<\/span><\/p>\n

Nafiseh Motevallibashi, a candidate in the Department of Computer Science, will present her Master of Science thesis defence on Wednesday, Dec. 13 at 11:30 a.m. in MCH 313.<\/span><\/p>\n

Her thesis is titled \u201cProperties and Algorithms of the (n; k)-Arrangement Graphs and Augmented Cubes.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n

Her examination committee members are Dr. Michael Bidochka, Chair; Dr. Eddie Cheng, External Examiner, (Oakland University); Dr. Ke Qui, Supervisor; Dr. Michael Winter and Dr. Sheridan Houghten, Committee Members.<\/span><\/p>\n

Scott Donia, a candidate in the Department of Kinesiology, will defend his Master of Science thesis by video conference on Thursday, Dec. 14 from 10 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in Walker Complex 203. <\/span><\/p>\n

His thesis is titled \u201cThe Effects of Acute Aerobic Exercise on Inflammatory Markers and Mood in Individuals with Multiple Sclerosis and Spinal Cord Injury.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n

The examination committee members are Dr. David Ditor, Supervisor; Drs. Kimberley Gammage and David Allison, Advisory Committee; Dr. Amy Latimer, External Examiner (Queen\u2019s University); and Dr. Allan Adkin, Chair.<\/span><\/p>\n

Filip Vlavcheski<\/b>, a candidate in the Department of Health Sciences, will defend his Master of Science thesis on Friday, Dec. 15 from 1 to 4 p.m. in STH 361. <\/span><\/p>\n

His thesis is titled \u201cInhibition of Free fatty acid-Induced Insulin Resistance by Rosemary Extract. Investigation of the Mechanism Involved.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The examination committee members are Dr. Evangelia Tsiani, Supervisor; Drs. Rebecca MacPherson and Huidi Wang, Advisory Committee; Dr. Philip Bilan, External Examiner (The Hospital for Sick Children); Dr. Ana Sanchez, Chair.<\/span><\/p>\n

Master of Arts thesis defences<\/strong><\/p>\n

Lindsay Smith<\/b>, a candidate in the Department of Sport Management, will defend her Master of Arts thesis by video conference on Friday, Dec. 15 from 9 a.m. to noon in STH 361. <\/span><\/p>\n

Her thesis is titled \u201cDon\u2019t Worry, be fulfilled: Exploring employee experience with leadership and fulfillment in the Major Games context.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Master of Education thesis defence<\/strong><\/p>\n

Education student Rachel Lowe will defend the thesis \u201cPre-Service Teachers\u2019 Experiences With Curriculum Integration: A Qualitative Study\u201d on Monday, Dec. 11 at \u00a02 p.m. in WH 147.<\/span><\/p>\n

The examination committee includes Hilary Brown, Chair; Sheryl MacMath, External Examiner (University of the Fraser Valley); Michael Savage, Supervisor; Ann Marie DiBiase, Committee Member; and Susan Drake, Committee Member.<\/span><\/p>\n

PhD in Educational Studies dissertation defence<\/strong><\/p>\n

Education student Perez Oyugi will defend the dissertation \u201cInstitutional Dimensions of Professional Knowledge: Implications for School Administrator Constructions of Equitable Leadership Knowledge in Kenya and Canada\u201d on Tuesday, Dec. 12 at \u00a02 p.m. in WH 147.<\/span><\/p>\n
