For the second-consecutive year, Brock University has been named one of the Top 15 employers in Hamilton-Niagara.<\/p>\n
The 2018 list of Hamilton-Niagara\u2019s Top Employers<\/a> was announced Wednesday, Nov. 22 in the Hamilton Spectator<\/em>. The annual competition, organized by the editors of Canada\u2019s Top 100 Employers, recognizes employers in the area that lead their industries in offering exceptional places to work.<\/p>\n Brock President Gervan Fearon said making the list of Hamilton-Niagara\u2019s top employers confirms that the University is a great place to work and an excellent post-secondary institution.<\/p>\n \u201cThis is feedback that tells us we\u2019re building an outstanding university community and an excellent workplace for us all,\u201d\u00a0he said. “We take pride in being an inclusive workplace and one that celebrates and recognizes our diversity and supports our employees.\u201d<\/p>\n The University has begun a survey of its employees in 2017 designed to assess employee engagement. The initial results demonstrated that people felt good about working at Brock.<\/p>\n \u201cThe opening round of our employee engagement survey found that 89 per cent of respondents said they\u2019re proud to tell people they\u2019re associated with Brock University,\u201d said Brian Hutchings, Vice-President, Administration.<\/p>\n Overall, an average of 82 per cent of respondents indicated a favourable work experience at Brock.<\/p>\n \u201cMost positive responses came when people were asked about applying a range of skills and knowledge to doing their jobs,\u201d said Hutchings. \u201cThey feel they are engaged in full, rich jobs that involve variety and problem-solving.\u201d<\/p>\n Brock University offers unique career opportunities in leadership, teaching, research, student support services and administration.
