In recognition of her passion for and contributions to higher education in Ontario, Joanne McKee (BAdmin \u201986) has been named the recipient of Brock\u2019s Goodman School of Business 2017 Distinguished Graduate award.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

An active member of the Canadian Association of University Business Officers and the Council of Ontario Finance Officers, McKee has been a long-time supporter of the Goodman school and has strong ties to the Brock community.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI am so appreciative of this recognition by the Goodman School of Business as it certainly has renewed my very deep connection to\u00a0Brock,\u201d she says.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs a resident of St. Catharines, I am quite aware of the positive impact that\u00a0Brock\u00a0has on our Niagara community as well as how the business school’s reputation continues to enhance the value of my Brock degree. I am grateful to my friends and former colleagues at the Goodman School of Business for this wonderful honour.\u201d<\/p>\n

Joanne McKee (BAdmin \u201986) is the recipient of the 2017 Goodman School of Business Distinguished Graduate award.<\/p><\/div>\n

McKee has more than 20 years of progressive and senior financial leadership experience in the Ontario education sector. She <\/span>previously worked at Brock as Associate Vice-President, Finance<\/span><\/a>, and as a part-time accounting instructor both at Brock\u2019s Goodman School of Business and Niagara College.<\/span><\/p>\n

After working at KPMG as a co-op student and graduating from Goodman, McKee obtained her Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) and Chartered Accountant (CA) designations and went on to complete a Master of Business Administration at Niagara University.<\/span><\/p>\n

She has been previously honoured with a Certified Public Accountant Graduate Award by the New York State Society and a Distinguished Leadership Award for effective leadership by the Council of Ontario Finance Officers.<\/span><\/p>\n

With experience at Wilfrid Laurier University as Assistant Vice-President of Financial Resources and Niagara College as Director of Financial Services, McKee is now the Chief Financial Officer at Ryerson University. In her role, she is responsible for the Financial Services department and provides strategic financial expertise and support to the President, senior executive group and Board of Governors.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe have alumni that reach out to many great places around the world and we\u2019re so privileged that they carry the Brock and Goodman name with them,\u201d said Goodman Dean Andrew Gaudes. \u201cIt\u2019s always an honour to recognize our distinguished alumni and for them to come back and share their experience and knowledge.\u201d<\/p>\n

McKee was named Distinguished Graduate at Brock\u2019s Homecoming celebration in September, and will be honoured again at a special reception held by the Goodman School of Business Monday, Nov. 20 from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Scotiabank Atrium.<\/span><\/p>\n
