{"id":47403,"date":"2017-10-20T08:03:25","date_gmt":"2017-10-20T12:03:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/?p=47403"},"modified":"2017-10-23T09:01:00","modified_gmt":"2017-10-23T13:01:00","slug":"review-scheduled-for-research-management-services","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/2017\/10\/review-scheduled-for-research-management-services\/","title":{"rendered":"Review scheduled for research management services"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Faculty and librarians are invited to attend a feedback session as part of an external review of Brock University\u2019s research management services. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The session takes place on Monday, Nov. 6 between noon and 1:30 p.m. at Pond Inlet.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Initiated by interim Vice-President, Research Joffre Mercier, the review will examine all services under the purview of the Vice-President, Research including:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Office of Research Services<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Office of Research Ethics<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Innovation and Commercialization Services<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Animal Care<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cGiven the quickly-evolving nature of research administration and the complexity of managing the research enterprise, the review was launched to identify our current capacities and to seek expert advice on how to move the research enterprise at Brock forward,\u201d Mercier said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The external review committee is comprised of:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sandra Crocker, Chair, Associate Vice-President (Strategic Initiatives and Operations), Carleton University<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Rachel Scarth, Member, Associate Vice-President Research Operations, University of Victoria<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Diane Dupont, Associate Dean, Graduate Studies and Research, Faculty of Social Sciences, Brock University<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There is a list of questions that attendees are asked to consider when coming to the consultation.
