Brock will be putting the spotlight on safety next week as the University observes Fire Prevention Week on campus.<\/span><\/p>\n

The theme for the national initiative, taking place Oct. 8 to 14, is <\/span>Every Second Counts: Plan Two Ways Out<\/span><\/a>, which highlights the importance of being familiar with escape routes and emphasizes how precious time is during an emergency evacuation.<\/span><\/p>\n

The University will be co-ordinating several fire drills on campus as part of Fire Prevention Week and to comply with the Ontario Fire Code.<\/span><\/p>\n

The locations and times of the drills are being intentionally withheld. <\/span><\/p>\n

During drills, the alarm system will be activated and Brock officials will observe the actions of occupants in order to compile drill reports.<\/span><\/p>\n

Typically, members of the St. Catharines fire prevention division are also onsite to assess efficiencies and address any concerns during the drills.<\/span><\/p>\n
