Brock\u2019s arts facilities are ready to celebrate Culture Days with the community.<\/p>\n
Both Rodman Hall Art Centre and the Marilyn I. Walker School of Fine and Performing Arts (MIWSFPA) will be opening their doors this weekend as part of the national initiative that highlights the mosaic of Canadian culture.<\/p>\n
Rodman Hall, 109 St. Paul Cres. in St. Catharines, will be hosting an open house and various family-friendly, hands-on activities Friday, Sept. 29 and Saturday, Sept. 30.<\/p>\n
Visitors will have the chance to make their own art, meet Rodman\u2019s instructors and tour the space, including its Summer Student Art Show and Material Girls exhibition<\/a>.<\/p>\n A full list of the free activities and their times is available on the Culture Days website<\/a>.<\/p>\n The Marilyn I. Walker School of Fine and Performing Arts in downtown St. Catharines will welcome guests for free tours Saturday, Sept. 30.<\/p>\n Guided tours of the state-of-the-art facility will take place every hour on the hour from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., beginning at the David S. Howes entrance, adjacent to the FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre. Visitors will also have the opportunity to explore the space on their own.<\/p>\n Tours will include the Awakening the Spirit exhibit now underway in the school\u2019s gallery, which features works from the Suzanne Rochon-Burnett Collection<\/a>.<\/p>\n The exhibition showcases Rochon-Burnett\u2019s journey to empower and support indigenous arts in Canada and globally through a collection of paintings, mixed media, sculpture and personal objects.<\/p>\n
