{"id":46331,"date":"2017-08-24T13:27:05","date_gmt":"2017-08-24T17:27:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/?p=46331"},"modified":"2017-08-24T13:27:05","modified_gmt":"2017-08-24T17:27:05","slug":"podcast-gaudes-shares-plans-for-business-schools-future","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/2017\/08\/podcast-gaudes-shares-plans-for-business-schools-future\/","title":{"rendered":"PODCAST: Gaudes shares plans for business school&#8217;s future"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/w.soundcloud.com\/player\/?url=https%3A\/\/api.soundcloud.com\/tracks\/339185087&amp;color=ff5500&amp;auto_play=false&amp;hide_related=false&amp;show_comments=true&amp;show_user=true&amp;show_reposts=false\" width=\"100%\" height=\"166\" frameborder=\"no\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In this week\u2019s <em>Conversations with Goodman<\/em> podcast, host Susan LeBlanc talks to\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/2017\/07\/goodman-school-of-business-welcomes-new-dean\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">incoming Goodman School of Business Dean Andrew Gaudes<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> about the first days of his term and his goals for the future.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Gaudes comes to Goodman from the University of Regina\u2019s Hill and Levene Schools of Business and officially began his term on July 1.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;Everywhere I turn, every corner I walk down, the people I meet are smiling,\u201d he said of his introduction to the Brock community. \u201cThey&#8217;re excited, and there&#8217;s a great sense of optimism about what&#8217;s happening here.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Gaudes is looking forward to implementing his student-focused approach at the business school, which he said is about \u201cmaking sure that students see a trajectory that includes them, their discretion and their ability to put forward their best in the workplace, whether that&#8217;s in an academic environment or a business environment.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He is also eager to build relationships in the business community.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;If we can support the business community through our graduates, as well as create growth for the business community by increasing strength in the labour pool and the managerial success that can come out of that labour pool, the better off we are,&#8221;
