{"id":46135,"date":"2017-08-08T16:11:16","date_gmt":"2017-08-08T20:11:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/?p=46135"},"modified":"2019-02-28T13:45:03","modified_gmt":"2019-02-28T18:45:03","slug":"gallery-vineyard-tours-a-big-draw-for-triggs-lecture-series","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/2017\/08\/gallery-vineyard-tours-a-big-draw-for-triggs-lecture-series\/","title":{"rendered":"GALLERY: Vineyard tours a big draw for Triggs Lecture Series"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The Triggs International Premium Vinifera Lecture Series marked its 10th<\/span><span class=\"s1\">\u00a0instalment this year, celebrating the milestone by giving guided technical tours at four vineyards in the Niagara-on-the-Lake area\u00a0on Thursday, Aug. 3.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Close to 100 grape growers and winemakers attended the interactive sessions to hear international speaker\u00a0Stefano Poni, Professor of Viticulture and Chair of the Instituto of Frutti-Viticoltura of the Universit\u00e0 Cattolica del Sacro Cuore of Piacenza, Italy, discuss the importance of canopy management in premium vinifera grape production.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Organized by Brock\u2019s Cool Climate Oenology and Viticulture Institute (CCOVI), the event hosts international experts who provide grape growers, industry stakeholders, researchers and students with access to the most current developments in the field of viticulture.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The Ontario arm of the series concluded with a public lecture at Brock University\u2019s Pond Inlet on Friday, Aug. 4.
