{"id":45608,"date":"2017-07-06T13:40:20","date_gmt":"2017-07-06T17:40:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/?p=45608"},"modified":"2017-07-06T16:11:32","modified_gmt":"2017-07-06T20:11:32","slug":"406-project-begins-and-so-do-the-road-closures","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/2017\/07\/406-project-begins-and-so-do-the-road-closures\/","title":{"rendered":"406 construction project begins, and so do the road closures"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The detours are coming.<\/p>\n<p>Road closures will hit home next week for Brock University commuters who travel through the interchange of Highways 406, 58 and St. David\u2019s Road.<\/p>\n<p>As crews begin a <a href=\"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/2017\/06\/finally-a-safer-walk-along-st-davids-road\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">three-year overhaul<\/a> of the busy interchange, a number of lane reductions or closures will take effect the week of July 10. Some will be overnight traffic restrictions, but others will see lanes or ramps shut down for several months:<\/p>\n<p><strong>The biggest impact<\/strong> will be for 406 drivers approaching from the south (Welland). The ramp to St David&#8217;s Road West \/Sir Isaac Brock Way (leading to the University) will be shut down until November or December.
