{"id":45351,"date":"2017-06-16T09:14:50","date_gmt":"2017-06-16T13:14:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/?p=45351"},"modified":"2017-06-19T12:17:37","modified_gmt":"2017-06-19T16:17:37","slug":"trustee-williams-given-major-community-award","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/2017\/06\/trustee-williams-given-major-community-award\/","title":{"rendered":"Trustee Williams given major community award"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Niagara community leader and Brock University Trustee Dr. Robin Williams \u2014 who served for six years as Ontario&#8217;s Associate Chief and Chief Medical Officer of Health \u2014 will be\u00a0in the spotlight June 22 when she receives the Lifetime Achievement Award, sponsored by Walker Industries and presented by the Greater Niagara Chamber of Commerce.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_44860\" style=\"width: 207px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-44860\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-44860 \" src=\"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/Dr.-Robin-Williams-300x380.jpg\" alt=\"Dr. Robin Williams\" width=\"197\" height=\"250\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-44860\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Dr. Robin Williams<\/p><\/div>\n<p class=\"p1\">The award recognizes an individual who has demonstrated an enduring commitment to their profession and to the community.<\/p>\n<p>A pediatrician in the region for more than 30 years, she remains a Special Advisor to Ontario&#8217;s Ministry of Health and Long Term Care.<\/p>\n<p>Williams also served as Niagara\u2019s Medical officer of Health for 16 years, until 2011.
