{"id":44901,"date":"2017-05-25T10:39:09","date_gmt":"2017-05-25T14:39:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/?p=44901"},"modified":"2017-08-29T16:14:17","modified_gmt":"2017-08-29T20:14:17","slug":"brock-community-encouraged-to-support-rankin-cancer-run","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/2017\/05\/brock-community-encouraged-to-support-rankin-cancer-run\/","title":{"rendered":"Brock community encouraged to support Rankin Cancer Run"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dozens of members of the Brock community will lace up in support of local cancer care this weekend.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The annual Rankin Cancer Run is expected to draw thousands of people to Grantham Lions Club in St. Catharines on Saturday, May 27.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">More than 30 people have already joined Brock\u2019s team for the popular event and organizers are confident that number will only continue to grow come Saturday.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cIt\u2019s not too late to register,\u201d said Kristen Smith, Brock\u2019s Manager of Community Outreach Programs with Student Life and Community Experiences, who is hoping to see a sea of familiar faces from the University along the running route.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Prakisha Pradhan, who is helping to round up Brock\u2019s runners and walkers, urged people to get outside and cheer on the University\u2019s team.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cEverything raised supports cancer care in the Niagara region.
