Brock University has brought Caitlin Muhl one step closer to achieving her lifelong dream of becoming a physician.<\/span><\/p>\n

The next milestone in her career quest is just on the horizon for the Niagara Falls resident, who will receive an Honours Bachelor of Science in Medical Sciences at Convocation next month.<\/span><\/p>\n

Muhl will return to Brock in September to complete her Master\u2019s of Public Health.<\/span><\/p>\n

She shared with a crowd at the recent Student Awards and Donor Recognition Reception the impact the University has had on her life.<\/span><\/p>\n

Muhl spoke about her decision to pursue her post-secondary education at Brock, knowing the experience and opportunities would help put her on the path to becoming a pediatrician.<\/span><\/p>\n

It was the one-of-a-kind Med Plus program that drew her attention and seemed to be a perfect fit, she said.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Muhl thanked Brock\u2019s donors for their contributions, which support various awards and initiatives that help students across campus continue to pursue their dreams.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cDonor awards greatly reduce the burden of post-secondary expenses,\u201d she said, adding it makes it more manageable for students to balance education and community involvement.<\/span><\/p>\n

More than $2 million in the form of thousands of awards are distributed annually to support students in their quest for excellence.<\/span><\/p>\n

The awards event, co-hosted by Development and Alumni Relations and the Faculty of Graduate Studies, is intended to celebrate the success of Brock undergraduate and graduate students and to thank donors for supporting students.<\/span><\/p>\n

During the event, guests also heard from graduate students Emily Van Haren and Brock’s 2017 3MT winner Caitlyn Gallant.<\/span><\/p>\n

Brock’s graduate students continue to be a vital part of our academic and research success and continue to receive external funding to help support their endeavours to build knowledge and lead discovery and innovation.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
