It\u2019s bold, brand new and all about the Badger.<\/p>\n
The Brock University Students\u2019 Union (BUSU) has ushered in a new era with a re-branding of its logo.<\/p>\n
The previous logo had represented the students\u2019 union for nearly two decades, being used through dozens of student representatives, volunteers, events and projects.<\/p>\n
However, outgoing BUSU president Patrick Foster knew it was time for a change.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe previous logo didn\u2019t quite capture what the students\u2019 union is about or what it represents. Students didn\u2019t know what it stood for,\u201d Foster said.<\/p>\n
Foster and BUSU graphic designer Christian Austin Ross, examined more than 50 artistic renderings since February before finally landing on the chosen logo.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe wanted the new logo to embrace the kind of spirit you see all around campus \u2014 from O-Week to Homecoming to representing the students \u2014 and we felt that going with the Badger was the best fit,\u201d said Foster.<\/p>\n
The new logo takes a minimalistic approach to the Brock Badger, set against a\u00a0plain\u00a0background. It ensures the Badger is always front and centre.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe looked at other Badger mascots in North America and made sure ours was not only unique, but that it was also the best one there is,\u201d Foster said.<\/p>\n
\u201cBUSU is beyond excited about the new brand logo. We believe it reflects so much of our student body: vibrant, strong, sharp and classy,\u201d said Curtis Gadula, Director of Student Life and Communications for the students\u2019 union.<\/p>\n
The rebrand was Foster\u2019s final project as BUSU president, and in reflecting what the last year has brought him, he couldn\u2019t be happier with the way it all turned out.<\/p>\n
\u201cI don\u2019t think I\u2019ll ever know the true impact this year has had on my life,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s obviously made me grow and change as a person, and I know that through hard work and collaboration, anything\u2019s possible. I\u2019m very conscious of all the blessings in my life.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
