Gibson Library.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The Library Speaker Series will kick off with its first panel discussion<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, called Makerspaces in Higher Education, on\u00a0Wednesday, May 3 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in Thistle 253.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Panelists will analyze the Makerspace movement, which offers libraries new ways to engage with students, forge new campus collaborations and participate in discussions about new understandings of teaching and learning.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Karen Smith, Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication, Popular Culture and Film, Camille Rutherford, Associate Professor in the Department of Teacher Education, and Tabitha Lewis from the Library Makerspace team will share their knowledge on the topic.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The discussion will explore how Makerspaces in libraries can unleash creativity and innovation to solve real-world problems.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All are welcome to attend.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A new speaker series is set to launch that will explore new directions, roles and initiatives for Brock\u2019s James A.
