{"id":44498,"date":"2017-04-17T09:23:41","date_gmt":"2017-04-17T13:23:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/?p=44498"},"modified":"2017-04-17T10:26:25","modified_gmt":"2017-04-17T14:26:25","slug":"election-for-staff-representative-to-the-board-of-trustees-4","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/2017\/04\/election-for-staff-representative-to-the-board-of-trustees-4\/","title":{"rendered":"Election for staff representative to the Board of Trustees"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Brock University\u2019s Board of Trustees is seeking one new ongoing staff representative to serve a three-year term on the Board.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The general bylaws of the Board of Trustees specify that the Board shall include two ongoing staff members, elected by the ongoing staff of the University, serving staggered three-year terms.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As of July 1, 2017, there will be one ongoing staff vacancy on the Board.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The University Secretariat will hold elections in May to select one representative from the ongoing staff for a three-year term commencing July 1, 2017.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All ongoing staff of the University are eligible to serve, except those who report directly to the President or to a Vice-President. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nomination forms are available on the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/university-secretariat\/2017-election-of-an-ongoing-s\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">University Secretariat election website<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The nomination form must be signed by at least three members of the ongoing staff and the nominee. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The nomination form must be submitted in person, by interoffice mail or by e-mail <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">to <\/span><a href=\"mailto:universitysecretary@brocku.ca\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">universitysecretary@brocku.ca<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, no later than 4:30 p.m. Friday, April 28. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Office of the University Secretariat is located in ST1107.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The election will be done by electronic voting, with the exception of those without an active e-mail address, who will receive a paper ballot.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Voting will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 10 and will close at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 24.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All eligible voters will receive an e-mail to their Brock e-mail account with a link to a secure electronic ballot.
