{"id":44354,"date":"2017-04-05T15:26:13","date_gmt":"2017-04-05T19:26:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/?p=44354"},"modified":"2017-04-05T15:26:56","modified_gmt":"2017-04-05T19:26:56","slug":"saskatchewan-academic-leader-to-become-goodmans-new-dean","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/2017\/04\/saskatchewan-academic-leader-to-become-goodmans-new-dean\/","title":{"rendered":"Saskatchewan academic leader to become Goodman&#8217;s new Dean"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Brock University Interim President Tom Traves announced today that Andrew Gaudes will become the next Dean of Brock\u2019s Goodman School of Business.<\/p>\n<p>Gaudes is currently at the University of Regina, where since 2012 he has been Dean of the Paul J. Hill School of Business and the Kenneth Levene Graduate School of Business.<\/p>\n<p>The Brock appointment takes effect on July 1, and today\u2019s announcement concludes a seven-month search which shortlisted four finalist candidates for the Goodman role.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to his position at U Regina, Gaudes was at the University of New Brunswick from 2003-2012, where he served at various times as Associate Professor, Director of Graduate Studies and Associate Dean for International Programs in the Faculty of Business Administration.<\/p>\n<p>Before becoming an academic, Gaudes worked in the fields of architecture and interior design, having earned undergraduate (1987) and master\u2019s (1998) degrees in architecture from the University of Manitoba. He then returned to U of M and in 2005 received his PhD in Management from the I.H. Asper School of Business.<\/p>\n<p>A specialist in organizational theory, Gaudes has published widely in his field, including nearly two dozen peer-reviewed journals, conference proceedings and conference papers.
