{"id":44040,"date":"2017-03-13T17:04:11","date_gmt":"2017-03-13T21:04:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/?p=44040"},"modified":"2017-03-13T17:07:36","modified_gmt":"2017-03-13T21:07:36","slug":"distinguished-research-and-creative-activity-award-lecture-nearing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/2017\/03\/distinguished-research-and-creative-activity-award-lecture-nearing\/","title":{"rendered":"Distinguished Research and Creative Activity Award lecture nearing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Professor Robert Dimand in the Department of Economics will be delivering this year\u2019s Distinguished Research and Creative Activity Award lecture.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The lecture, titled \u201cJohn Maynard Keynes and Global Economic Crisis,\u201d will take place Thursday, March 23 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Plaza 600F.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The lecture is part of Dimand\u2019s Distinguished Research and Creative Activity Award, which he received during the Fall 2016 Convocation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dimand is the author of <\/span><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">James Tobin<\/span><\/em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (2014), <\/span><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Origins of the Keynesian Revolution<\/span><\/em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (1988) and co-author of volume 1 of <\/span><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A History of Game Theory<\/span><\/em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (1996).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He has edited or co-edited a dozen books, most recently an International Economic Association conference volume, <\/span><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Keynes\u2019s General Theory After Seventy Years<\/span><\/em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (2010, with Robert A. Mundell and Alessandro Vercelli; translated into Mandarin in 2012).
