{"id":43999,"date":"2017-03-09T13:08:08","date_gmt":"2017-03-09T18:08:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/?p=43999"},"modified":"2017-03-09T16:43:35","modified_gmt":"2017-03-09T21:43:35","slug":"brock-hosting-milestone-pals-conference","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/2017\/03\/brock-hosting-milestone-pals-conference\/","title":{"rendered":"Brock hosting milestone PALS conference"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When the Ontario-Quebec Paleolimnological Symposium (PALS) marks its 10th anniversary in May, it will do so on Brock\u2019s campus.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The conference, focused on the fields of limnology and paleolimnology, is being hosted by the University May 24 to 26.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Organized by a group of Brock WEL (Water and Environmental Lab) graduate students, the event provides undergraduate and graduate students, as well as postdoctoral fellows, the opportunity to present their research related to lakes and other bodies of inland water.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThis year marks the 10th anniversary of the symposium, an event that was literally born out of notes on the back of a napkin,\u201d said WEL Co-Director Michael Pisaric.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThe PALS symposium continues to grow and flourish each year, as does the relevance of the science that will be explored and discussed at PALS 2017.
