Local entrepreneurs will provide insight into their success during a public networking event Tuesday co-hosted by Brock University.<\/p>\n
The Department of Communication, Popular Culture and Film (CPCF) and This is My Niagara have partnered to host the Connect Networking Event on Tuesday, March 7 at Rodman Hall Art Centre in St. Catharines.<\/p>\n
Students will come together with local professionals, business owners and representatives from non-profit organizations to learn and share insights into marketing and entrepreneurship in Niagara. <\/span><\/p>\n Tayler Book, co-founder of Beechwood Doughnuts and one of the night\u2019s keynote speakers, will explore how she used social media to market and grow her business into one of downtown St. Catharines most frequently visited shops.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI will be discussing the backstory of Beechwood Doughnuts, how we got the idea off the ground and, most importantly, how we utilize digital marketing techniques that have proven to be engaging and effective,\u201d Book said.<\/span><\/p>\n Other keynote speakers include Ransom Hawley, CEO of Caddle, and entrepreneur Alex Digenis, owner of Henley Honda and Subaru of Niagara.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019ll be talking about taking the entrepreneurial leap: timing, pros and cons, and how to mitigate your risk,\u201d Hawley said.<\/span><\/p>\n This is My Niagara is an initiative created to help connect young talent with small- and medium-sized businesses in the region.<\/span><\/p>\n Register on\u00a0<\/span>Eventbrite<\/span><\/a> to reserve a spot for the free public event, which begins at 6:30 p.m..<\/span><\/p>\n
