There\u2019s an important relationship many people forget to celebrate on Valentine\u2019s Day.<\/p>\n

Student Life and Community Experience (SLCE) will be offering a reminder on Tuesday that nothing is more important than the love you have for yourself.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think a lot of us believe Valentine\u2019s Day is only for people who have a special someone to celebrate with,\u201d said Kyra Boyce, a SLCE student staff member.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe want to turn V-Day into U-Day.\u201d<\/p>\n

Boyce, along with her fellow student staff members Ali McDermid and Layton Risto are hosting two campaigns that flip the script on conventional love day practices.<\/p>\n

The Love Yourself campaign is happening Tuesday in Union Station, with passersby invited to write messages of what they love about themselves, about their friends and about the University.<\/p>\n

A sexual violence awareness campaign will also be happening throughout the day, with Student Life team members handing out lollipops and Valentine\u2019s cards with messages about\u00a0consent.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a fun and relatable way to talk about a sensitive but important issue,\u201d Risto said.<\/p>\n

No matter what day it is or how you celebrate, Boyce hopes to remind the Brock community that \u201clove comes in all shapes and forms, and people deserve to share that love with themselves.\u201d<\/p>\n
