There will soon be a new starting point for Brock University\u2019s campus tours.<\/p>\n
After decades in the same location, the tours office has moved and will begin operating out of its new home, Robert S.K. Welch Hall 05, on Monday, Jan. 30.<\/span><\/p>\n Campus construction and space constraints led to the decision to relocate from Thistle Complex 261, said Senior Recruitment Officer Matt Melnyk.<\/span><\/p>\n The new office, on the lower level across from the David S. Howes Theatre, is conveniently located near guest parking in Lot D and is easily accessible, he said.<\/span><\/p>\n Melnyk estimated about 9,000 people, including the families of some 3,000 prospective students, take the campus tours annually, many during March Break and the month of May.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cThat\u2019s why the move is taking place now,\u201d he said, adding the crew of nearly 30 Brock ambassadors is expected to be settled into the new space before the busy season arrives.<\/span><\/p>\n For some prospective\u00a0students, a campus tour can be the deciding factor in whether Brock is their post-secondary institution of choice.<\/span><\/p>\n People who take a tour of the campus, whether at an open house or on a regular tour day, are \u201cfar more likely to accept their offer of admission,\u201d Melnyk said.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cThat\u2019s one of the key ways to differentiate Brock \u2014 how beautiful our campus is.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Anyone thinking about attending Brock is encouraged to take a tour to experience the campus, its connectivity, safe atmosphere and innovative facilities, he said.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cStudents think they know what a campus is like \u2026 but it\u2019s hard to know until you visit and experience it.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
