Brock graduate students have until Feb. 22 to submit research proposals to present at the 12th annual Mapping the New Knowledges (MNK) Graduate Student Research Conference.<\/p>\n
Master\u2019s and doctoral students at all stages of research can give either an oral or poster presentation at the one-day conference on Tuesday, April 11.<\/span><\/p>\n The event, presented by the Faculty of Graduate Studies in partnership with the Graduate Students\u2019 Association, takes place from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the Plaza Building and Cairns Family Health and Bioscience Research Complex. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cThe conference provides Brock a showcase to celebrate graduate research, highlighting the caliber and scope of graduate research at Brock,\u201d said Jens Coorssen, Dean, Faculty of Graduate Studies.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cWe are bringing students out of the disciplines of their home program and getting them to realize that they belong to a larger community.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Coorssen said the conference is a forum for students to see \u201cwhat other interesting things are being done by graduate students as an opportunity to strike up partnerships.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n As part of the call for proposals, students are required to include a maximum 200-word description of their research in plain language appropriate for review by a multidisciplinary committee.<\/span><\/p>\n Last year, about 120 graduate students from across Brock participated in the conference.<\/span><\/p>\n The event is tailored to provide students the opportunity to gain research presentation experience in a welcoming and transdisciplinary atmosphere.<\/span><\/p>\n
