This week\u2019s Conversations with Goodman <\/em>podcast guest is MBA student Shakti Pradhan who talks to host Susan LeBlanc about his experience at the Goodman School of Business as an international student.<\/p>\n

Pradhan, who holds an undergraduate degree in engineering, explains how pursuing and MBA degree was an obvious choice for him.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs an engineer, I have always been fascinated by the processes of business,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n

While following financial markets, Pradhan thought about the skills that managers needed to make effective decisions to lead their companies and knew that he could gain the needed skills through an MBA program.<\/p>\n

And as for choosing Goodman, Pradhan says it was BioLinc<\/a>, Brock\u2019s business incubator run by the Goodman School of Business, that sold him.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is a symbol that Brock fosters creativity and innovation in students,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n

This year, Pradhan was part of the Goodman Graduate Business Council<\/a>, the representative student body for Goodman graduate students. Through his involvement, he led his team to win the team\u2019s social media challenge at MBA Games<\/a>, a national MBA student competition that tests students\u2019 excellence through academic, athletic and spirit challenges.<\/p>\n

Pradhan\u2019s advice for international graduate students is to keep on learning and making connections.<\/p>\n

\u201cDon\u2019t just think of MBA as a degree, think of it as a learning experience because I have almost finished my first year here and I have learned a lot from my peers, from MBA Games from case studies, from classes,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou have to be open to new experiences. You have to be willing to get out of your comfort zone and learn new things and get to know people because MBA is not just about books, it\u2019s also about people.\u201d<\/p>\n
