Walker School of Fine and Performing Arts"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">In the Soil Arts Festival will be staging the third edition of its increasingly popular RHIZOMES program <i>\u2014<\/i>\u00a0a \u201cchoose your own art adventure\u201d <i>\u2014\u00a0<\/i>throughout the hallways and spaces of the <\/span><span class=\"s3\">Marilyn I. Walker School of Fine and Performing Arts Centre.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">The three-day festival which starts Friday and runs to Sunday will showcase artists of all disciplines with a series of one-time audience experiences, including short plays, dance performances, and sound and light installations. Upon entry, audience members will be directed to \u201cThe Hive,\u201d a licensed area where you can grab a drink and sign up to experience the 11 creations.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">Seven of the eleven installations involved in this program are connected to the MIWSFPA as students, alumni, faculty and staff from all four disciplines (Visual Arts, Dramatic Arts, Music, and Centre for Studies in Arts and Culture) are active participants. In the Soil Arts Festival is produced by <a href=\"http:\/\/suitcaseinpoint.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span class=\"s4\">Suitcase in Point Theatre Company<\/span><\/a>, and run by two Brock dramatic arts alumni.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">RHIZOMES will be open to audiences in four two-hour blocks over the course of the weekend: Friday, April 29, from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.; Saturday, April 30, from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. to midnight; Sunday, May 1, from 2 p.m. to\u00a04 p.m.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">Admission at the door is $20, however a $40 festival pass will give you access to RHIZOMES and the other 150 acts and installations taking over downtown St. Catharines as part of the In the Soil Arts Festival.
