This week\u00a0Students Against Sexual Assault is hosting a Sexual Violence Awareness Week at Brock University consisting of workshops, panels and a documentary screening.<\/p>\n
The events are survivor-focused and intended to create safer and inclusive spaces.<\/p>\n
“We really want to support survivors, survivorhood and survivor stories,” said SASA executive member Alex Perna. “We also want to educate the student body as well as faculty about sexual violence and sexual assault.”<\/p>\n
She said the events this week will focus heavily on giving survivors a voice.<\/p>\n
Everyone is welcome to attend the week’s events:<\/p>\n
\u2022 Tuesday from 2-4 p.m. in WH324 is the workshop Black and Indigenous Womyn: Sexual Violence and Racialized Borders. From 5-8 p.m. in Sankey Chamber there will be a screening of the\u00a0documentary The Hunting Ground<\/em>.<\/p>\n \u2022 Wednesday from 4-6 p.m. in TH257 is the workshop Male Survivorhood: Negotiating Spaces and Finding Support.<\/p>\n \u2022 Thursday from 5-8 p.m. in WH207 is Stories of Survivorhood and Art in the Healing Process.<\/p>\n
