Four students from Brock University’s Goodman School of Business placed third out of 24 teams at the Supply Chain Management Association Student Case Competition, held on Feb. 19-20 at McMaster University and the University of Calgary\u2019s Haskayne School of Business concurrently.<\/p>\n
Business students Chris Pace, Josh Ratz, Melissa Trapani and Sameer Verma placed first at the regional (Eastern Canada) level and advanced to the national level to claim third place overall.<\/p>\n
The competition focuses on logistics, network design, procurement, relationship management, supply chain risks and sustainability in the field of supply chain management through a series of business case analysis and presentations in front of judging panels made up of business professionals, academics and corporate sponsors.<\/p>\n
Business students Sean Harder, Shayyaan Jafri and Dexter Lautenbach also competed in the regional level and received very positive feedback from judges on their presentation.<\/p>\n
Professor Danny Cho, who teaches supply chain management courses in Goodman\u2019s Finance, Operations Management and Information Systems department, accompanied the team to the competition and provided faculty support by training and coaching the students.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am very proud of these young people for what they have achieved over the past few weeks – their commitment, their work ethic and their willingness to put Goodman on the map in a very positive way,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n
This was the first year the Goodman School of Business participated in the competition.<\/p>\n
