{"id":36370,"date":"2015-11-10T16:48:50","date_gmt":"2015-11-10T20:48:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/?p=36370"},"modified":"2015-11-10T16:55:28","modified_gmt":"2015-11-10T20:55:28","slug":"brock-universitys-perplexing-backwards-bicycle","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/2015\/11\/brock-universitys-perplexing-backwards-bicycle\/","title":{"rendered":"Brock University&#8217;s perplexing backwards bicycle"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>They say you never forget how to ride a bicycle, but that old adage doesn&#8217;t apply to the backwards-steering bike built by Brock University Faculty of Education Professor Robert McGray.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, the backwards bicycle he made with the help of Brock\u2019s machine shop is so perplexing, most people can\u2019t ride it. The bicycle is the same as a traditional bike except for gears attached to the handlebars which make it steer in the opposite direction of what you would expect.
