Brock University is rolling out the red carpet for prospective students next month.<\/p>\n
Over 4,000 students and parents will come\u00a0to Brock on Nov. 8 for Fall Preview Day and recruiters are already preparing to make their visit one to remember.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe will give our prospective students the best experience possible,\u201d said recruitment manager Melissa Beamer.<\/p>\n
She said campus visits are often the deciding factor for students making their top post-secondary pick.<\/p>\n
And Brock\u2019s warm and friendly atmosphere, combined with its safe and modern campus, are major selling features.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe number one thing people always mention when they come here is the feeling of community. It feels like it could be home,\u201d Beamer said.<\/p>\n
She said everyone on campus plays a roll in that sense of community, from students and staff to faculty.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt really is a team effort,\u201d she said. \u201cEvery single person has a role on this team.\u201d<\/p>\n
The day will give people a chance to explore the campus, meet with faculty, staff and students and learn more about Brock.<\/p>\n
Information sessions will be held throughout the afternoon and new this year is a trip to the Marilyn I. Walker School of Fine and Performing Arts.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s a chance for them to try us on for size,\u201d Beamer said. \u201c\u201dWe\u2019re a mid-sized university with a smaller-school feel.\u201d<\/p>\n
She said students are encouraged to visit the schools they are considering because it\u2019s the best way to know if a university is a good fit.<\/p>\n
