Bawe Nsame has no shortage of school spirit.<\/p>\n

He\u2019s a big Badger fan, Sir Isaac Brock buff and proud Brock University student.<\/p>\n

He\u2019s spreading his Badger pride with a new campaign called #WeAreReady.\u00a0It\u2019s already catching on with more than half of the 1,000 free tickets available for hype night \u2013 a pep rally planned for Oct. 6 \u2013 gone.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re creating an exciting, positive atmosphere with chants, waves and synchronization,\u201d Nsame said, noting research shows that creating that kind of energy is effective and contagious.<\/p>\n

Bawe Nsame has launched the #WeAreReady campaign. A pep rally is planned for Oct. 6 at 5 p.m.<\/p><\/div>\n

He plans to turn those in attendance from fans into super fans.<\/p>\n

He wants to recreate the atmosphere he felt in the gym last season during three sold-out basketball games. That feeling of pride, community and celebration should fill the gym during all home games,\u00a0no matter what sport, he said.<\/p>\n

And who better to inspire students than the University\u2019s namesake, Sir Isaac Brock.<\/p>\n

After researching Brock and his role in the War of 1812, Nsame said he knew the soldier\u2019s history of perseverance would help drive his campaign.<\/p>\n

He said people in London, England didn\u2019t believe that Maj.-Gen. Brock could win and they were ready to give up.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut, he won. He was ready,\u201d Nsame said, adding Brock and his soldiers\u00a0knew they could win.<\/p>\n

\u201cEvery time someone walks in our gym we want them to know ‘We Are Ready!’\u201d he said. \u201cWe want to protect our house and support our athletes.\u201d<\/p>\n

Nsame, a fourth-year Sport Management student, is running the campaign with third-year Economics student Mohamed Hassan.<\/p>\n

Students lined up in the Walker Complex Wednesday to have their photo taken while grabbing\u00a0a free ticket to the pep rally. Hassan is sending every student who signs up to attend the event a photo to share on social media, letting their friends and followers know they are ready. There will also be some T-shirt giveaways at the rally, which will be attended by about 200 athletes.<\/p>\n

Hassan said the school spirit the campaign has already generated will continue growing and spreading among students and staff.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s not just a catchphrase, it is part of our history,\u201d he said. \u201cThe emotional tie and the energy will make this last.\u201d<\/p>\n

The pep rally is being held on Oct. 6, which Nsame later learned is Brock\u2019s 246th<\/sup> birthday.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think it was meant to be,\u201d he said. \u201cIt\u2019s a day of celebration.\u201d<\/p>\n
