To say Margie Lizzotti loves the water would be a massive understatement.<\/p>\n

The Brock Aquatics<\/a> Program Coordinator just won her third award for her dedication to all things aquatics – this time taking home the Service Cross from the Commonwealth Council of the Royal Life Saving Society<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“I was a water baby, pool rat, pool brat,” said a jubilant Lizzotti, who started with Brock back in 1984.<\/p>\n

“I was in the water before I can remember. \u00a0I wasn’t allowed to take formal swimming lessons until I was six years old – no one was. ”<\/p>\n

Lizzotti, who received the Service Medal and the Bar to the Service Medal in the past, was presented with the Service Cross on Parliament Hill in Ottawa, by the Honourable Elizabeth Dowdeswell, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario.<\/p>\n

“It was such an honour,” explained the Merritton native. \u00a0“It was so enlightening. \u00a0To be a part of something so formal, it was very eloquent. \u00a0It truly meant so much to everyone of us there.”<\/p>\n

Lizzotti is not only very proud of what Brock Aquatics is all about, but also its special ties with the community in and around the Niagara Region.<\/p>\n
