{"id":31080,"date":"2014-12-03T15:28:04","date_gmt":"2014-12-03T20:28:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/?p=31080"},"modified":"2014-12-03T15:28:04","modified_gmt":"2014-12-03T20:28:04","slug":"busu-brings-drive-home-program-back-for-exams","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/2014\/12\/busu-brings-drive-home-program-back-for-exams\/","title":{"rendered":"BUSU brings Drive Home program back for exams"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a class=\"highslide\" onclick=\"return vz.expand(this)\" href=\"http:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/drivehome.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-31081\" title=\"Tired student having a lot to read\" src=\"http:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/drivehome-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"Tired student having a lot to read\" width=\"504\" height=\"283\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Brock University Students&#8217; Union is bringing back its <a href=\"http:\/\/www.busu.net\/drivehome\" target=\"_blank\">Drive Home<\/a> program.<\/p>\n<p>The program provides students with after hour rides home while they stay late at school to study during exam periods.<\/p>\n<p>Previously, the program serviced St. Catharines and Thorold, and this year a route through Niagara Falls has been added.<\/p>\n<p>Drive Home currently uses Niagara-on-the-Lake&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/ctgcanada.ca\" target=\"_blank\">Community Transportation Group<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"highslide\" onclick=\"return vz.expand(this)\" href=\"http:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/drivehome2.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-31082\" title=\"Print\" src=\"http:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/drivehome2-206x300.jpg\" alt=\"Print\" width=\"206\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Drive Home Program has given 1385 rides during both the December and April exam periods since the program&#8217;s inception three years ago.<\/p>\n<p>While the St. Catharines and Thorold routes will remain as usual, there is a slight change to their timing.<\/p>\n<p>This will allow for the extended travel time to Niagara Falls during the winter.  The departure dates and times will be as follows:<\/p>\n<p>Friday, Dec. 5 &#8211; Tuesday, Dec. 16 (No Sunday Service)<br \/>\n\u00b7         11:30 p.m. Thorold loop<br \/>\n\u00b7         12 a.m. Catharines loop<br \/>\n\u00b7         12:45 a.m. Niagara Falls loop (new service route)<br \/>\n\u00b7         1:30 a.m. St. Catharines loop<br \/>\n\u00b7         2 a.m. Thorold loop<br \/>\n\u00b7         2:30 a.m. St. Catharines loop<\/p>\n<p>The routes and drop points can be found on the map below.<\/p>\n<p>Visit the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.busu.net\/drivehome\" target=\"_blank\">Drive Home website<\/a> to book your ride. You will be asked to selected your desired time-slot as well as city and drop point.<\/p>\n<p>After you have registered, we ask that be outside the Isaac&#8217;s patio 5-10 minutes before your scheduled ride.<\/p>\n<p>Once you will check-in with one of our staff\/volunteers, you can sit back and enjoy the ride.<\/p>\n<p>If for some reason you miss your scheduled ride, please register for the next available ride.<\/p>\n<p>For more information on the Drive Home Program, contact <a href=\"mailto:cgreen@busu.net\" target=\"_blank\">Chris Green<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Brock University Students&#8217; Union is bringing back its Drive Home program.
