If you’re interested in engaging in mindfulness practice and meaningful discussion, the Centre for Pedagogical Innovation<\/a> has a workshop for you.<\/p>\n

The session will provide background on the CPI’s efforts to create a community of practice in mindfulness in higher education as a way to explore its impact, both personally and within the teaching and learning contexts in which we work.<\/p>\n

All members of the University community are welcome to join the discussion Monday, Nov. 24 from 10 a.m.-noon in TH253 e-classroom.<\/p>\n

This celebration includes the conferral of teaching awards and public address by the 2014 Brock University Award for Distinguished Teaching recipient, Marilyn Cottrell, Department of Economics. Instructional Skills Workshop <\/strong>(3-day certificate program)
\nWhen: Dec. 8-Dec. 10
\nTime: 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. (each day)
\nCost: $50 registration fee
\nInfo: Open to all Brock University faculty and instructors and teaching assistants, the 30-plus year old workshop is a peer-based, experiential instructional development program. It’s one of the most successful approaches to pedagogy in post-secondary institutions. Held over three days, the ISW is designed to enhance teaching effectiveness through teaching practice and feedback in small groups and is ideal for novice and veteran instructors.
