Recent tragic events in Canada have been clear reminders of the need to have good emergency preparedness at workplaces, schools, public buildings and government institutions.<\/span><\/p>\n

Here at Brock the wellbeing of students, faculty, staff and visitors is the top priority. But safety is everyone’s responsibility, and given recent events, this is a good time for everyone in the Brock community to brush up on the University’s emergency procedures.<\/span><\/p>\n

The <\/span>Campus Security Services website<\/a> quickly links visitors to emergency procedures, including an <\/span>Emergency Preparedness video<\/a> and the University’s <\/span>Imminent Threat Policy<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The <\/span>Brock Mobile Safety App<\/a>, available for free download to mobile devices, has a “safety toolbox” of information and a direct link to Campus Security.<\/span><\/p>\n

These are all important tools, containing directions and quick links that are invaluable in the event of an emergency or at times of concern.<\/span><\/p>\n

Because safety is a shared responsibility, the Brock community depends on all students, staff and faculty to be the eyes and ears of our campus. Anyone seeing suspicious persons or activities should notify Campus Security at ext 3200, or via <\/span>website<\/a>, <\/span>Facebook<\/a> and <\/span>Twitter<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

“Staying aware and just being sensible about our surroundings is a simple key to protecting our environment and our right to be safe,” said Brian Hutchings, Vice-President of Finance and Administration.<\/span><\/p>\n
