Close to 3,700 students will graduate this week at Brock’s 2014 Spring Convocation<\/a>, which takes place over nine ceremonies from Tuesday, June 3, to Saturday, June 7.<\/p>\n All ceremonies<\/a> will be held in the Walker Complex in the Ian D. Beddis gymnasium. An outdoor reception for graduates, family members and guests will be held after each ceremony. Tickets are not required. All guests are welcome.<\/p>\n Ceremonies will also be video streamed live at livestream.com\/brockuniversity<\/a><\/p>\n The nine ceremonies will proceed as follows:<\/p>\n \u2022\tAn honorary degree will be presented<\/a> to Ron Sexsmith<\/strong>, the Canadian singer-songwriter who hails from St. Catharines. He will also address the graduating class. \u2022 Professor Kari-Lynn Winters<\/strong>, Department of Teacher Education, Faculty of Education, will be presented with the 2014 Faculty Award for Excellence in Teaching,<\/a> and will address Convocation <\/strong>\u2022\tProfessor John Novak<\/strong>, Department of Graduate and Undergraduate Studies in Education, Faculty of Education, will address Convocation \u2022\tAn honorary degree will be presented<\/a> to Leo W. Gerard,<\/strong> International President of the United Steelworkers. He will also address the graduating class. \u2022\tAn honorary degree will be presented<\/a> to Sir Hilary Beckles<\/strong>, professor and Pro-Vice Chancellor and Principal of the University of the West Indies.
