Delegates attending Congress 2014 will have the opportunity to taste some of Ontario’s top wine at the Sipping Ontario wine with the stars seminar<\/a>.\u00a0The event’s second session will take place Wednesday, May 28 from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. in Sankey Chamber and is organized by Brock’s Cool Climate Oenology and Viticulture Institute<\/a> (CCOVI).<\/p>\n

“The session will feature seven award-winning wines made right here in Ontario by Brock University alumni, in a fun and light-hearted atmosphere” says Barb Tatarnic, manager of outreach services at CCOVI.<\/p>\n

Participants will sip and learn while guessing what movies famous film clips featuring wine are from. Wine educator Linda Bramble will facilitate the session and answer any questions in a relaxed, informal environment.\u00a0Registration for the event is done at the door and is reserved for the first 50 participants. A fee of $20 (cash only) will be charged to cover the cost of the wine. The event is part of the Congress Plus<\/a> program, which highlight’s some of Brock’s academic and cultural programs.<\/p>\n

For Congress attendees looking to visit local wineries, daily tours are available to Niagara-on-the-Lake<\/a> and the Twenty Valley and Beamsville Bench<\/a> through Winery Tours of Niagara. The tours highlight wineries where alumni of Brock’s Oenology and Viticulture degree program work as well as wineries that partner with Brock on research projects.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
