{"id":27822,"date":"2014-04-30T10:39:12","date_gmt":"2014-04-30T15:39:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/?p=27822"},"modified":"2014-04-30T10:39:34","modified_gmt":"2014-04-30T15:39:34","slug":"ontario-hostelry-institute-inducts-brock%e2%80%99s-barb-tatarnic","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/2014\/04\/ontario-hostelry-institute-inducts-brock%e2%80%99s-barb-tatarnic\/","title":{"rendered":"Ontario Hostelry Institute inducts Brock\u2019s Barb Tatarnic"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"attachment_27823\" style=\"width: 514px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-27823\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-large wp-image-27823\" title=\"ohiawardsgroup\" src=\"http:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/ohiawardsgroup-1023x642.jpg\" alt=\"ohiawardsgroup\" width=\"504\" height=\"316\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-27823\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">OHI president Charles Grieco with Barb Tatarnic and Chelsey Peterson after the OHI awards presentation.<\/p><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theohi.ca\" target=\"_blank\">Ontario Hostelry Institute<\/a> (OHI) &#8211; an organization dedicated to recognizing top hospitality industry achievers whose commitment enhances the image of Ontario &#8211; has inducted Barb Tatarnic, <a href=\"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/ccovi\/\" target=\"_blank\">Cool Climate Oenology and Viticulture Institute&#8217;s<\/a> (CCOVI) manager of outreach and continuing education, as a fellow of the institute.<\/p>\n<p>Tatarnic received the honour at the organization&#8217;s annual gala April 24, where OHI president Charles Grieco applauded her years of service to CCOVI and the Ontario wine and hospitality industry.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I would like to congratulate Barb as she becomes a fellow of the Ontario Hostelry Institute,&#8221; Grieco said. &#8220;This award recognizes her professional and institutional achievements to the grape and wine industry.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Tatarnic oversees CCOVI&#8217;s continuing education program and many of the institute&#8217;s outreach activities.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Barb has been a driving force in developing our wine outreach and continuing education programs at CCOVI,&#8221; said CCOVI director Debbie Inglis. &#8220;This award recognizes her passion for and dedication to advancing the Ontario wine industry.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/brocku.ca\/ccovi\/oenology-viticulture-program\" target=\"_blank\">Oenology and Viticulture<\/a> (OEVI) student Chelsey Peterson was also honoured at the gala, receiving the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theohi.ca\/Scholarships\/StudentAwards\/OenologyViticultureAward.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">OHI&#8217;s annual Oenology and Viticulture Scholarship<\/a>.
