{"id":26912,"date":"2014-03-11T08:58:37","date_gmt":"2014-03-11T13:58:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/?p=26912"},"modified":"2014-03-13T12:15:55","modified_gmt":"2014-03-13T17:15:55","slug":"goodman-school-of-business-earns-prestigious-cpa-accreditation-for-mba-program","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/2014\/03\/goodman-school-of-business-earns-prestigious-cpa-accreditation-for-mba-program\/","title":{"rendered":"Goodman School of Business earns prestigious CPA accreditation for MBA program"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-26913\" title=\"cpa\" src=\"http:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/cpa.jpg\" alt=\"cpa\" width=\"481\" height=\"271\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/business\/current\/graduate\/program-timetables\/mba\" target=\"_blank\">Master of Business Administration<\/a> (MBA) at Brock University&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/brocku.ca\/business\/\" target=\"_blank\">Goodman School of Business<\/a> has been accredited by the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.icao.on.ca\" target=\"_blank\">Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario<\/a> (CPA Ontario) under the new <a href=\"http:\/\/unification.cpacanada.ca\/recognition-and-accreditation-standards\/\" target=\"_blank\">National CPA Accreditation Program<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Brock&#8217;s Goodman School is currently the only business school in Ontario to offer a combined MBA and CPA program.<\/p>\n<p>The new combined program allows non-accounting university graduates to pursue an MBA and an accounting designation at the same time.<\/p>\n<p>The two-year graduate program also includes a co-op work term.<\/p>\n<p>The CPA\/MBA program will offer a CPA-accredited stream that provides graduates with advanced standing in the <a href=\"http:\/\/gocpabc.ca\/overview-of-the-cpa-program\/cpa-professional-education-program\/\" target=\"_blank\">CPA Professional Education Program <\/a>(CPA PEP).<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s never too late to make a career change and this accreditation provides university graduates with a faster and seamless route to becoming professional accountants,&#8221; says Don Cyr, Dean, Goodman School of Business. &#8220;Graduates of our undergraduate and graduate accounting programs are already in high demand.
