Random Acts of Kindness Day returns Friday, Nov. 1.<\/p><\/div>\n

It’s cool to be kind.<\/p>\n

And your chance to be both happens Friday when Random Act of Kindness Day returns.<\/p>\n

The annual homage to doing good deeds without being asked will feature Boomer handing out candy in the Schmon Tower lobby to kickstart the morning for faculty, staff and students.<\/p>\n

Later, Brock volunteers will also rake leaves in the Marsdale neighbourhood from noon to 3 p.m.<\/p>\n

Ever wanted to say thank you to someone for a good deed but never got around to it? Friday’s your day to show some gratitude by visiting a campus cafeteria where the Department of Residences will have tables set up to make thank you cards.<\/p>\n

And if that isn’t enough kindness, Brock University Students’ Union (BUSU) <\/a>is planning a whole week dedicated to performing good deeds for others.<\/p>\n

To help inspire students be kind, information will be posted throughout campus with suggestions of kind acts. The hope is a full week of unexpected goodwill will “improve the social climate on campus,” Ibrahim Qureshi, BUSU’s community involvement co-ordinator, said in an email.<\/p>\n

Random Act of Kindness Day is a global celebration spearheaded by local organizations to encourage kind acts toward others.<\/p>\n

Locally, the Niagara Community Foundation is leading the initiative, reinforcing its vision of building a better community by encouraging a pay it forward philosophy of doing something for someone else without expecting anything in return.<\/p>\n
