The Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council is challenging post-secondary students to show Canadians how social sciences and humanities research is affecting our lives, our world and our future prosperity.<\/p>\n
The council is looking for storytellers and data journalists, social media masters and aspiring filmmakers for its communications challenge Research for a Better Life: The Storytellers.<\/a><\/p>\n Canadian post-secondary students can submit a creative story pitch about SSHRC-funded research \u2014 their own or a professor’s \u2014 at their institution, how it is making an impact in our everyday lives, and why it matters.<\/p>\n Podcasts, op-eds, vlogs or infographics are welcome but audio and visual entries must be no longer than three minutes.<\/p>\n Up to 25 first-round winners will receive a cash prize of $3,000 and an invitation to participate in a specialized research communications workshop at the Congress of the Humanities and Social Sciences<\/a> in Victoria in June.<\/p>\n Five final winners will have the chance to deliver a featured presentation at the World Social Science Forum in Montreal, in October.<\/p>\n
