And this year\u2019s group includes 15 Brock grads and one Brock employee, up from an impressive <a href=\"http:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/?p=10016\" target=\"_blank\">nine Brock grad recipients last year<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The primary purpose of our annual awards banquet is to give back to the Niagara region while identifying individuals and businesses that greatly contribute to its\u2019 growth and development,&#8221; says Adam Shields co-Publisher of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.businesslinkniagara.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"><em>The Business Link<\/em><\/a> monthly newspaper, who also happens to be a Brock grad.<\/p>\n<p>To qualify for the 40 Under Forty Awards, individuals must be under 40 years of age and consistently make their mark in business and contribute regularly to their respective communities. The awards are designed to recognize Niagara\u2019s next generation of business leaders.<\/p>\n<p>One of this year\u2019s recipients is Brock graduate Isabell Camillo (BA \u201998, TESC \u201911). Camillo is the Managing Director at Aeris Language Solutions, and she\u2019s also a Masters of Applied Linguistics student currently enrolled at Brock University.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_16374\" style=\"width: 194px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-16374\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-16374 \" title=\"isabellcamillo-news\" src=\"http:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/isabellcamillo-news.jpg\" alt=\"isabellcamillo-news\" width=\"184\" height=\"277\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-16374\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Isabell Camillo, Brock graduate<\/p><\/div>\n<p>\u201cThere is no greater accolade than when your efforts are recognized by your peers,\u201d says Camillo. \u201cPersonally, winning this award has been a humbling experience and I am honoured to be among the impressive group of past and present recipients.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cProfessionally, having been nominated by my colleagues tells me that I am not only appreciated but respected for my knowledge, experience, and skills that I contribute to the Niagara community,\u201d she says.<\/p>\n<p>Blake Landry (BA \u201905), business analyst at nGen (Niagara Interactive Media Generator), is also among the fifteen,<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I know that my Brock education has contributed to my success to date,\u201d says Landry. \u201cI learned some core business, critical thinking, and communications skills while completing my Brock degree. These skills are crucial to my day-to-day work activities when helping clients overcome business challenges.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Landry\u2019s also optimistic about Niagara\u2019s economy. \u201cI\u2019ve networked with many people involved in the innovation space throughout Canada and it\u2019s opened my eyes as to how economically and culturally diverse Niagara actually is, and how much potential we have.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe can be a powerhouse in the global innovation economy and we are currently putting the proper building blocks in place,\u201d says Landry. \u201cOf course it\u2019s a challenge, but I believe we are headed in the right direction to achieve greatness.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cara Boese, senior relationship manager in Co-op Programs at Brock, was thrilled when she found out she was receiving the 40 Under Forty Award.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNiagara has become my home over the past 10 years and I am passionate about helping students and fellow residents find meaningful employment that allows them to stay and enjoy all that the region has to offer,\u201d says Boese. \u201cBrock Co-op has developed a strong, trusted brand with many of our employer partners and I am proud to be representing them in the marketplace.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMost of all, I want my children to be inspired to be involved in their community, help to make a difference in the lives of others and do something that they love to do,\u201d she says. \u201cThat is the true reward of being recognized as a leader in Niagara.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em>The Business Link<\/em> will be celebrating the achievements of Niagara\u2019s top 40 Under Forty winners May 14, 2012 at the Holiday Inn Parkway Convention Centre in St. Catharines.<\/p>\n<p>Proceeds of this year\u2019s event will go towards <em>The Business Link<\/em> Bursary\u2019s at Brock University and Niagara College.
