The past 35 years have been marked by continuous development and growth for the association as it continues to work with Brock Alumni Relations to advocate on behalf of the University\u2019s graduates. The BUAA strives to increase the value of a Brock degree and supporting grads in their personal and professional development.<\/p>\n<p>This awards gala originated in the 2006-07 school year under the name \u201c30 from the Past Thirty\u201d when the BUAA celebrated its 30th anniversary. <a href=\"http:\/\/brocku.ca\/alumni-association\/recognition\/30-30-awards\" target=\"_blank\">Thirty outstanding Brock graduates<\/a> scattered over North America\u00a0 received an award to acknowledge their commitment to exemplifying Brock University\u2019s core values \u2014 imagination, innovation, and commitment.\u00a0 Examples of such remarkable grads include a former MuchMusic VJ, a silver medal Olympian, a university basketball coach and a war crimes prosecutor.<\/p>\n<p>With over 75,000 graduates, the BUAA takes great pride in recognizing their achievements and will celebrate 35 more alumni at the Alumni of Distinction Awards on Saturday, March 31 at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amicisbanquetcentre.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\">Amici\u2019s Banquet Centre<\/a> in Thorold.<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019d like to nominate a Brock University graduate for an Alumni of Distinction Award, please download the <a href=\"http:\/\/brocku.ca\/webfm_send\/19340\" target=\"_blank\">nomination form<\/a> and return it by Thursday, Dec. 15, 2011.<\/p>\n<p>For more information on the Alumni of Distinction Awards, contact the Brock University Alumni Association by emailing alumniassociation@brocku.ca or calling 905-688-5550 x4502.<\/p>\n<p>The BUAA is also hosting the <a href=\"http:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/?p=13945\" target=\"_blank\">Brock Rock curling bonspiel<\/a> on Saturday, Feb. 4.
