{"id":13069,"date":"2011-10-26T10:51:25","date_gmt":"2011-10-26T15:51:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/?p=13069"},"modified":"2011-10-26T10:51:25","modified_gmt":"2011-10-26T15:51:25","slug":"brock-teacher-conference-to-focus-on-arts-in-the-classroom","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/2011\/10\/brock-teacher-conference-to-focus-on-arts-in-the-classroom\/","title":{"rendered":"Brock teacher conference to focus on arts in the classroom"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Two hundred teacher candidates will gather at Brock\u2019s Hamilton campus this week to learn more about how to integrate the arts across the curriculum inside the classroom.<\/p>\n<p>The second annual \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/brocku.ca\/education\/futurestudents\/events\/artsconference\" target=\"_blank\">Arts Matter: Integrating the Arts Across the Curriculum<\/a>\u201d symposium, presented by the Department of Teacher Education, takes place Thursday, Oct. 27 and Friday, Oct. 28.<\/p>\n<p>The event is co-planned by Brock faculty members in arts education: Shelley Griffin, Peter Vietgen, and Kari-Lynn Winters.<\/p>\n<p>This conference is designed to provide additional instruction in the arts through workshops led by Ontario clinicians and expert professionals in drama, music, dance and visual arts.
